Alpaca and Merino

Yesterday I took some time to dye a little bit of Alpaca/Merino. 3 strings of 30 grams each (approx 160 meters) turned out really nice in this shade of blue.

Crochet - haakwerk

From time to time left over sock yarns are piling up at home. I got the urge to do something with these and started to crochet... goal is to make a blanket out of them, and this is just the beginning.

Van tijd tot tijd stapelen de restantjes sokkengaren zich op. Ik ben een poosje terug begonnen met het ophaken van deze restantjes, met als doel er ooit een deken van te maken. Dit is dus pas het begin.

Surprise

This time not for me, but for my husband... The company he works for surprised him with an enormous bunch of flowers, as he is cellebrating his 5th anniversary in security! Wonderful way to finish 2011 and start the new year!

Yes... I fell off my knitting chair. :-) The shawl, named after my father's oldest sister is in fact crocheted with cobweb yarn from Jamieson and Smith. Still hard to believe it would become the cover model for Inside Crochet - in the United Kingdom it will be in stores around Dec 30
